Bath Fringe is run mostly by volunteers. From the committee that directs its core activities to the people who put up posters, distribute programmes, do the door or steward at events and programme those events in detail in the first place, the festival would not happen without those who see a need for something, step into the gap, and do it. It's a very Fringe attitude. The Fringe has one part-time salaried worker for part of the year and other paid help when things get really busy, but even these started by volunteering their services, and the specialist professionals we do use when we have to be certain that the job is done are often working for way below the commercial rate. All of which is to say that we value and need volunteer help, and we wouldn't be where we are or how we are today without it.

If you'd like to help with Fringe 2003 or even 2004, email us at the office (or you can telephone if you like). Fringe volunteers are all jolly wonderful, happy and sexy people as you will discover if you come down to the Fringe Club after the night's work is done. Buy them a drink if you agree (or even if you disagree and you want them to listen).
