Blurb: This annual dance event PRESENTED BY Latin Massive
will feature leading Cuban violinist Omar Puente, part of a generation of
musicians that shaped Cuban music, calling themselves the “Nueva
Generacion”. This influential musician has worked with renowned artists
such as Ruben Gonzales (Buena Vista Social Club). His influence is the
basis of Raices Cubanas, a 10-piece band with roots of son and charanga,
and a more contemporary sound based on the different backgrounds of its
members. Their previous work with leading innovators, such as Arturo
Sandoval and Bobby Carcasses, has developed this exciting new sound that
is now popular in Cuban music.
